Oklahoma City Barons October 9, 2010 ushered in a new era of hockey in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma City Barons began play in the American Hockey League. The Barons are the primary developmental affiliate of the Edmont Oilers. In the Barons first season of play, head coach Todd Nelson guided the team to 40 wins and a berth in the Calder Cup playoffs. During the first season of play, a total of 12 players were called up by the Oilers to play for the big club. |
